HypnoBirthing The Mongan Method
HypnoBirthing combines the use of self hypnosis with childbirth education. This method of natural childbirth preparation has been taught by Steve Griffiths for over four years and now has the support of midwives who have seen the relaxed more comfortable births that can results from using these techniques.
The HypnoBirthing method teaches an understanding of how the body works during pregnancy & labour. It also teaches women how to relax into the surges (contractions) using specific breathing techniques and focused visualizations. In this calm state the body’s natural anaesthesia, endorphins, replaces the stress hormones that cause pelvic muscles to constrict and cause pain when women are fearful or anxious.
With HypnoBirthing the partner or birth companion is fully involved and is taught how to help mum practice her relaxation techniques between classes and to help her maintain relaxation during labour. Each course includes all materials and support until term if needed. We recommend you start HypnoBirthing classes anytime from 22 weeks onwards.
Steve and Sonia Griffiths
Steve has been a Hypnotherapist and solution focused psychotherapist for 10 years. He has specialist interests in Hypnosis for childbirth and infertility and is a faculty trainer for the HypnobBirthing institute (one of only 3 in the UK).. Steve and Sonia have both presented to hospitals, various national organizations, midwifery training courses and Steve has appeared on the national birth channel talking about hynpoBirthing. He has also been published in the national press including The Sunday Express and Top Sante. Sonia is a biomedical scientitst and experienced complementary therapist. She integrates her scientific knowledge with the holistic approach to mind boby healthcare.
